After graduation from high school, Gary and I got married in August, 1967. Our first son, Kelly was born in 1968 and we had Kacey in 1972. I worked for my father in Kerby-Danford Clinic for 12 years as an Office Assistant. When they retired in 1981, I was hired by the City of Nyssa as Assistant City Clerk. In 1992 I went to work for Malheur County Assessor's Office for Dick Meisinger, then in 1994, I began a 12 year career with the District Attorney's Office as Child Support Specialist. In 2006, I thought it would be neat to try one more job before I retire, so began a new career as an Evidence Technician for the State Police in Pendleton. In December, 2006, we moved to Baker City to be closer to my brother so we could share our mother's care. I worked two days a week for Baker Justice Court. I retired from that in 2011. In April, 2013, I was asked to do the evidence for Baker Police Department. I retired from that in January, 2014, and in March, 2014, we sold our home in Baker City and are really retiring to the mountains of Starkey, Oregon. Gary owned Ward Brother's Construction and later Gary Ward Construction and he retired last year as well. We plan on fishing, berry picking, mushroom gathering and gold mining and many long walks in the woods. We will have our 47th wedding anniversary in August.
I was also a volunteer for the Nyssa Ambulance from 1992 to May 2006 as a First Responder/Driver and Citizen's on Patrol for the Baker City Police Department from 2010 - 2014.
