Since 1971, I have had a few "start-overs!". Graduated from OSU in Home Economics in 1975, married Dick Butcher that summer and moved to Payette. We owned Shaffer Jensen Funeral Home for 15 years and raised our children there. I returned to College of Idaho in 1988 and graduated in Elementary Ed. in 1990. We moved to Boise later that year and I taught school for a few years at Longfellow Elementary. We divorced in 2000. I took a secretarial job with Summers Funeral Homes in Boise in 2000, and am still there. When I taught school, I thought I would be working until I reached "the rule of 90", now I know I will be working until I'm 90! Oh,well--I like my job. I remarried Rick Skinner from Jordan Valley in 2002. (met him at a funeral--wonderful place to meet men) He is a great guy and we both have a lot of family in the area, including my mother, Margaret, who still lives in Nyssa (same house!), my son, Ben in Boise, my daughter, Anna in Boise, and Rick's 4 brothers and one sister and all their families who all live in Boise. My daughter, Melissa and husband live in Kennewick, WA with our two precious granddaughters, Amelia age 4 and Chelsie age 2. We try to see them as much as we can. We also try to maintain Rick's home and property 7 miles south of Jordan Valley, but we live and work in Boise. If you are ever driving through Jordan Valley on Highway 95, stop in at "Skinner's Rock House Coffee", that is our family's coffee shop--great coffee and even better, we have great bathrooms! My live is simple but good.
