Melissa passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville from complications following knee surgery. She lived in Oak Park River Forest area most of her life. She graduated from University of Wisconsin and received her masters in Library Science from Dominican University in River Forest. Melissa was a former board member of the Oak Park Art Fair, enjoyed traveling, reading, and worked for the Glenview Public Library.
Melissa is survived by her husband, Grover Kennedy, and her daughter, Jessica Brown. She had two grandchildren, Alex and Libby.

You have my heartfelt sympathy at Missy's unexpected passing. She was vibrant and cared about people. She had both a gentle spirit and a warm sense of humor. She also had an unmistakable laugh. Many of her friends were life long friends. I am saddened to learn of her passing
