River Forest "Mini Reunion" Saturday afternoon at Jim and Pete's restaurant I realized that with over 100 coming to the reunion dinner, it will be difficult to find and talk to very many folks. So, I thought some of us should try to meet beforehand at Jim and Pete's 7806 W North Ave, Elmwood Park 60707 (708-453-5204) (close to Oak Park CC) Starting around 12:30. I have reserved a table until 5:00. So far, I've heard from Jean Stastny, Ellen Ingram, Bob Meister and John Mattson that they are planning to come. Ty Cocagne has declined and Hans Delius and Jim O"Laughlin responded that they have family commitments and will see us at the dinner. Also sent emails to Janice Leiner, and Janis Leverenz. Feel free to extend the invitation to others. All are welcome! If you have questions call or text 512-626-2351. Looking forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks. Bill McCall

Bill,

Lynne Jones mentioned something about a Willard luncheon.  Is this the same?

Best wishes,

Charlotte

After reading all of the wonderful updates I so wish I could be at the reunion.  My husband and I are going on a cruise and there was no way I could do both in the time frame.  They are o ly a couple of days apart.  Please post pictures afterward .  Bill are you still in Oak Park?

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say how disappointed I am not to see everyone.  After waiting in the airport several hours, my flight from NJ was canceled yesterday because of the TSA fire,  and the only rebook I could get would have put me at the dinner on  Sat at around 8pm.  Hope you all have a wonderful time.  Maybe see you at the 60th?

Sorry I couldn't make it-a vicitim of Fire in the Tower.

I found a picture of 8th Grade class from Whittier School which is posted on my profile, in case you want to go even further down Memory Lane (?Philip Wells, et all)

Many of us were blessed to get good starts in such a well-balanced High School, and those memories will last even longer.

Best of luch to everyone going forward

The reunion was wonderful!  So happy to see so many faces; some I remembered, some I didn't, and some I got to know again!  Food was good, the video of so many high school photos was fun to see, and over all it was really fun!  Thanks to the committee for all their hard work.  It was a great success!

Sorry to those who got hung up in the radar fire mess and couldn't be here!

Many thanks to all who worked so hard to put on this wonderful event.   It certainly takes a lot of planning and came off without any apparent glitches!   And aren't we all blessed to have made it this far :)

Best wishes to all,

Thanks to all who helped to organize this event. It was a complete success, although the time went wayyyy to quickly.  The rush of memories on seeing so many old friends was mind-boggling.   Alas, today I'm back to being that same old guy again.  Thanks to all who participated for making the last weekend such a wonderful event.  I think we had an exceptionally close bunch of classmates.

As the song goes, "Thanks for the Memories"!   Sending a resounding thank you, muchas gracias, to all those who made our 50th Reunion such an unforgettable weekend.  We realize what a gift of time and commitment it meant for all of you to work over many months to make it so special.  The thoughtful touches--the In Memorium board remembering those class members we have lost, the table filled with photos, the fantastic tour led by Marilyn Noonan's sister (another gift of time on her Saturday morning) we most appreciated.  The venues were perfect and the food at the dinner delicious.  The highlight of the weekend was the opportunity to reconnect, and reconstruct old memories resting comfortably and sweetly in the corners of my consciousness-- feeling very blessed.  So sorry not to have seen those unable to attend.  You were missed!

Oh my gosh what a weekend I had!  Reunions and mini reunions.  Hundreds of thanks to our committee for getting this altogether and giving us a weekend of fun and nostalgia.  Kudos to those who managed to get through a "Second Chicago Fire", sorry for those who couldn't.  Thanks Bill McCall for getting the mini reunion together for the River Forest kids and OMG great pizza by the way.  Looking forward to seeing you in Austin.  Only complaint is that there is just so little time.  I was able to tour the house where I grew up on Bonnie Brae.  Oh my, the rooms are so small...and they seemed so big when I lived there.

After the tour through the school on Saturday, I ran into a guy who I recognized as my older brother, Jim's, best friend, Lee MacDonald.  He was here for his reunion - 1959.  Good grief.  Life is such fun!

So great to see you all and looking forward to yet another reunion!

Love,   Ellen Sue

P.S.  my Brother, Bill, was thrilled you missed him!  I, on the other hand, think you like him better than me!

Can't believe 55 years since we graduated!  Sad to see so many of our classmates have passed on since our last reunion.   We'll be in the Chicago area this summer.    It would be nice to have a mini-reunion.    Are there any plans?
