In Memory

Paddy Faulds (Blackman)

Paddy Faulds (Blackman)

Paddy Faulds Blackman passed away September 8, 2018 of pancreatic cancer.  Paddy and her husband, John, just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 10, 2018.  Paddy believed in experiences rather than things.  She traveled extensively, and her loyalty to her family and friends was fierce.  Paddy, John, their three sons, and eight grandchildren all reside in Davenport, Iowa.  She will be missed terribly.

Paddy was in my homeroom & I remember how kind and upbeat she always was. One memory that stands out is talking about Faulds Ovens that were in the pizza restaurant in which we were eating. My sincere sympathies to her entire family. RIP Paddy.

Our deepest condolences to Paddy's family.  I knew Paddy to be the very definition of sweet and caring.  Despite her popularity, she was the opposite of self-absorbed - sensitive to all those around her.  Late in high school, I considered her my friend, and later in life - at one of our reunions - at the end of an evening of being totally igcognito (unrecognized by classmates including "best friends"), I heard a voice call out my name.  It was Paddy.  She alone recognized me.  That was Paddy.  She will be missed by all whose lives were touched by her.

Although I didn't know her well, I remember Paddy as a sweet, thoughtful classmate. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

This is such sad news. I will always remember Paddy, in Homeroom, for her warm smile, her genuine interest in and kindness towards all of her classmates. I send my deepest sympathies to Paddy’s family.  May she rest In Peace!

Patty Falls what a Class Act, I think we went to Emerson School in Oak Park when we were in grade school, I always looked up to her and everything she did was so classy! what a bummer for her to die this way!! I will never forget her until the day I die! She is in a better place now and hopefully we'll all see her on the other side!!!! Jim Mason class of 64!!!!

I knew Paddy as a kind, warm often smiling person with an interest in others. She was well liked with good reason. As others have already mentioned, she was genuine. My condolences to Paddy’ husband and family,

It has been hard to come to this place and say good-by to my friend of 8 school years together...so many memories.  We had planned for me to stop in Davenport on my path across the country last summer but sadly it wasn't meant to happen.  Some words she quoted to me in a birthday card April 2017, (advice from her sister Kathy), "I(Paddy) have to leave the Queen of Doing and move into the Queen of Being" have been very much on my mind lately with the CV.  I miss Paddy's lively, caring, zest for life!!!
