Comments:
In Oct. 1993, I entered Navy boot camp. I did tours of duty in Norfolk, VA; Kevlavik, Iceland; New Orleans, LA; Cedar Rapids, IA. I separated from military service in Aug. 2003. During my time in New Orleans, I met and married a fellow Navy service member (Gary Howard).
I have 2 children, a boy and a girl. My husband is still active duty Navy, so we have also lived in Fort Worth, TX and now in Groton, CT.
I am currently a sophmore at Columbia College working toward a Bachelors in Business Administration.
In 2007, between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I had a cancerous GastroIntestinal Stromal Tumor removed. I am now cancer free, but have been undergoing daily doses of a chemotherapy drug for the past year to reduce the amount of time before the tumor regrows. May 27th 2009 is my final day! woohoo!!!
In my spare time, I volunteer at my son's middle school in the chorus/music dept and the drama dept.
I am also a social (auxiliary) member of the Center Groton Volunteer Fire Dept.
When my husband retires from active duty service later this year, we are planning to relocate to New Orleans, LA (his hometown).
