Delane Bybee

My name is Sylvia Bybee and I am Delane's daughter. I have updated my dad's profile with current information and some pictures of him for the people that he went to school with.

Delane served in a Construction Battalion (CB) in 'Nam and was a paratrooper in the Army for three years. He joined when he was 19 years old in 1960. He was stationed at Fort Bragg North Carolina in the 82nd Division. Delane was a construction superintendent for new homes and industrial developments for 35 years working for various companies in California and Utah. He was a big game (elk, deer, moose, bear) Guide and Outfitter in Wyoming and Utah. He always had his own horses. Earlier in his years Delane played the guitar and sang with nightclub musicians. He leased different businesses such as a pizza restaurant in Utah and a bar and lounge in California. Delane was a very hard worker and believed he could do anything he set his mind to.
He has 4 daughters and 6 grandchildren.

My dad was diagnosed with Alzhimer's in 1997 in his early 50's. On Monday, October 1st, 2012 he had gotten pneumonia and shortly after he got a fever. He passed away Thursday, October 4th, 2012. I thanked God that I was able to be there by his side as he passed. He will be missed very much.

I do not know much about his school days so if you have anything you would like to share with me about my dad and when you knew him I would really love that.

Uintah - A quick-thinking Boy Scout last week engineered a rescue of two small brothers buried in a sand tunnel cave in – and to do it he had to have a freight train halted whose vibration was aggravating the victims’ plight.
Due to the modesty of Delane Bybee, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond C. Bybee of Unitah, the story didn’t come out until yesterday, when he was taken to Ogden by his Boy Scout leader to determine whether or not he was eligible for a life-saving award
The two boys he rescued are Bill and Johnnie Price, 12 and 10, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Price.
