of Sioux City died Wednesday, October 18, 2000, in Lincoln, Neb., following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel with the Rev. Alex T. Washington officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest-Westlawn Cemetery in Omaha with the Rev. Karen Bolton officiating.

Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Dyas was born Dec. 25, 1933, in Mankato, Kan., the son of Raymond Thomas and Grace G. (Miller) Dyas. He lived in Mankato until age 9 and then moved to Omaha, living there from 1942 to 1979. He graduated from an Omaha high school.

He moved to Sioux City in 1979. He married Marilyn Ruth Curtis on April 12, 1952, in Papillion, Neb.

He was employed with Burke Engineering for 21 years. He was of the Lutheran faith. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter and her husband, Catherine and David Peterson of Omaha; a son and his wife, Mark S. and Susan K. Dyas of Plymouth, Minn.; three sisters, Neva Carrillo of Omaha, Joyce Graciffai of Marlboro, Mass.,and Norma Rigg of Omaha; a brother, Dale Dyas of Omaha; two grandchildren, Matthew David Peterson and Sheri Lynn Dyas; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.

Pallbearers will be Matt Peterson, David Peterson, Dean Teska, Cecil Weber, Milton Petty and Jerry Gardiner.
