ONEIDA >> Brenda Jean Stanford, 68, of 321 A. Harden St., passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, in the emergency room of the Oneida Healthcare after being stricken at the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility where she had been a resident since 2013.

She was born on Jan. 15, 1949, in Queens, N.Y., the daughter of Robert Paul and Esther Carol Low Collins. Brenda was a graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1967.

On Aug. 31, 1968, Brenda was united in marriage to Donald A. Stanford Jr., in St. Patrick's Church.

Brenda was a member of St. Joseph's Church and their Altar Rosary Society.

Surviving besides her loving husband of 48 years, Don, are her children, Shawn Stanford, of Oneida, Michael Stanford, of Canastota, Aaron Stanford, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Steven (Cindy) Stanford, of Oneida, and Sara Stanford, of Oneida; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017, beginning with a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 121 St. Joseph's Place, Oneida, celebrated by the Rev. Richard J. Kapral. Interment will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home, 342 Main St., Oneida. Memorial contributions may be made in Brenda's memory in care of her family to Donald A. Stanford, 321 A. Harden St., Oneida, N.Y. 13421.
