Gary and I were good friends. We often played baseball together at the Carol City park after baseball season. He was the worst baseball player I ever saw but was always a good sport and ready to play on a moment’s notice. He was always kind. My mother liked him. I spent the night at his parents house when he died and was a pall bearer at his funeral. He didn't swim well and I always felt I should have been with him on this outing. I still think of him.
