In 1967 Red Road (Now 57th Ave) was the western end of civilization in north Dade County. J C Weeks hay and feed had a large alfalfa and cattle operation that ran out west of there for acres and acres. Farming and livestock were the main industries from Carol City all the way down to Chrome Ave in Homestead.
