After graduation, Jose went to Biscayne College (now, Barry University) and graduated with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. He continued his education and attended medical school for three and a half years. Just short of graduation he decided it was time to move on.
Jose joined Pan American World Airways and flew for them as a flight attendent from 1979 until their demise in the early 90's. He was then hired by United Airlines and continued with them until 1995.
During his 14 years of traveling the world, he was able to see, experience and understand cultures from all corners of the world. He often said that he was truly blessed to see and do things that few individuals have the opportunity to enjoy such experiences. Whether it was being on Safari in Africa, or riding camels and exploring the Pyramids in Egypt to walking on the "Great Wall" in China or sking during our summers in the mountains of Argentina, he said the most fulfilling aspect of his travels was his learning to understand the many cultures and people he interfaced with. He was truly a "people person" and was loved by many special people throughout the globe.
He enjoyed life, made the most of it and could always bring you up when things were down. During his illness, he never complained and always had a smile on his face. He truly taught many of us the joy and peace a simple smile could bring to humanity. He taught us how to live and love. His spirit is constantly with us and I am sure he is with all of you as well !
