School Story:
When I think of high school, the first person who comes to mind is Mr. Greenan, the beloved geometry teacher. He used songs and even his own dancing to help us remember things, which is a trick I use with my own music students. I tell them about Mr. Greenan and sing this song, which I still remember perfectly:
C-c-c-cosine, beautiful cosine,
You're the only f-f-f-function I adore;
When the m-moon shines over the lighthouse,
You can calculate the distance to the shore.
It's too bad I can't remember the calculation, but in terms of memory, I'll take what I can get!
