After college, married and started moving up and down the East Coast. My husband is a research scientist and his jobs led us to various locations. Washington, DC, Brown University in Rhode Island, Syracuse and here where we now live in Atlanta, Ga. He recently retired from the Centers of Disease. I taught school for several years but stopped when we adopted a baby in 1978.

Although I didn't officially work...I never stopped 'doing' things. Every town we lived I manage to throw myself into some activity. I'm really adept at raising money for causes I am committed. My animal foundation was started in 1990 and currently responsible for spaying and neutering 94,000 plus animals. Pet population here in the South is a real problem and it is something I wish to help reduce.

I am also an avid quilter...my HS friends would be amazed since I really had no inclination to sew or handle a needle...but you can train yourself for such an activity!!!. I belong to a wonderful group of women and men...our current project it making full sized quilts for returning injured soldiers. It is a national affiliation and over 100,000 quilts have been made. Today, NBC Nightly News met with us to film a short documentary. It should be on the news tonight.

I have so many memories ...I had so many great friends that when I look back. I know that they made me the person I am. I spent so many hours at Judy Boland's house that it was almost another address. Her mother was such a dear and confidant. We laughed and loved and cared for one another. We didn't seem to have the intrusions that teenagers have today.

I know one thing that I should have done in HS that I didn't do...take a typing class...that is the only thing that I regret...My father said I didn't want to take typing because there weren't any boys in the class...(that wasn't true...and you all know it...!)
