Doug was one of my brothers in this world and in Christ for eternity. In High School, he was always up for new experiences and usually had a unique take on what was happening. I worked with him one summer at Universal Midwest, and we were constantly cutting it up and being admonished by a supervisor. We were also roommates in college for a year at SIU. He somehow surived eathing nothing but mac & cheese or steak. We continued our exploits with various "geezerpalooza" events over the years, or when I would blow in for biz for a couple of nights...he was always up for a beer and a burger. He even once flew into San Francisco, rented a motorcycle and drove to my house on the central coast going down Highway 1 thru Big Sur. Quite the adventure.
I will miss him greatly and will always remember how he role modeled what an end of life attitude is all about. He finished the race well! 2Timothy4:7

Janet...looking forward to seeing you in a few days. It's funny that the people I mostly remember are from the grade school days (Wood St. & Sanborn)...when we all arrived at Fremd we were like a minority group. Funny how David G. remembered Mr. Kramer. I know we both had our moments in that class.
Flipping thru an old photo album and ran across this picture of Jim & the "Barbs" on one of our adventures up to (I believe the Milwaukee zoo). When Jim arrived at Fremd, we became instant friends. He had a great love for life and you never knew what was going to happen next. Sort of like a roller coaster ride. Jim and I also worked for years at the "Greenhouse Restaurant" off and on for a couple of years and used to play basketball at the Y. And unfortunately, I was one of his pall bearers at his funeral service.
I have nothing but fond memories of Jim and over the years have prayed that he was still among us...I have missed him from the moment he left us...and hope we will meet again in the after life.
