Monet Monfort Lion

My childhood was spent in Alva, Oklanoma and I consider it my "roots." Moved from there to Palo Alto in 8th grade and began Junior High at Wilbur. In 1959 I attended Terman Junior High and was in first graduating class. Then on to Paly for High School.
Graduated from Pacific Lutheran University Summa cum laude in WA state with BA in Sociology in 1990 (as a commuting adult student.)
Lived in various locations in Bay Area from '62-1970, when Rod and I moved to Puget Sound area south of Seattle. Lived on a lake while raising the girls--had lots of critters, a boat, and loved water skiing. In 1984 we moved away from lake to acreage in Enumclaw (gateway to Mt. Rainier), got into thoroughbred horse racing at Longacres for a number of years. When youngest left home, we moved to O'ahu where Rod flew Captain to Asia on 747's--we lived on the beach away from Waikiki, survived Hurricane Iniki in '92, but moved back to WA (same home) for Rod to finish up career on the 400's flying to Australia. I traveled with him often and really got the travel "bug," so have been broadening my horizons ever since.
I moved to Salt Lake City Valley to be closer to daughter/family in 2007 and discovered the beautiful red rock country of St. George a couple of years ago...so I moved one last (hope) time and am exceedingly happy here enjoying all types of retirement activities and travel.

My favorite memories while at Paly were riding around in my turquoise MGA with the top down--mainly with Sharon Wann and Carole Hubbart. We spent many hours at beach in Half Moon Bay (and broken down on Pacific Hwy a few times).
Those long, long halls and stairs will always be remembered--trying to get to class on time. Also, playing field Hockey (I don't think they offer that in PE anymore!) and practicing golf on the field behind the shops. My best golf shot went awry and went through one of those windows. Got an F for the day.
Ginny Thomas and I getting class credit for working in a pre-school nursery...those littlw kids were so much fun for us!
