Gene died on January 30, 2012 in Amarillo.

He was born June 16, 1944 in Drumwright, Oklahoma to Armal and Bonnie Finney. He had been a resident of Pampa most of his life, graduating from Pampa High School in 1962. He attended Southwestern Bible College. Gene married Sharron Mangus on August 10, 1963 in Pampa. He retired from Duke Energy in 2006 after 42 years of service. He loved metal work, carpentry work and camping. He attended Briarwood Church.

SURVIVORS: wife: Sharron Finney of the home; 3 sons: Brent Finney of Flower Mound, Greg Finney and wife Jodie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Barry Finney and wife Nancy of Pampa; a sister: Carolyn Needham and husband Tom of Amarillo; mother-in-law: Wanda Baxter of Pampa; brother-in-law: Larry Mangus of Pampa; 2 sisters-in-law: Karen Jones and husband Richard of Pampa, and Deloris Landis of Bethany, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren: Curston Finney, Krista Finney, Michael Finney, Allie Finney, Gregory Finney, and Samantha Ransom and husband Chad; and a great-grandchild: Kamdyn Ransom. Gene was preceded in death by his parents: Armal and Bonnie Finney; and his father-in-law: Owen Mangus.

Margaret Burns (Matson)

Eugene was such a kind and good person. Our class has lost a wonderful man who made the world a better place and who was a blessing to those who knew him. I send my condolences to his family.

Sue Maxey (Atkinson)

Eugene was a quiet, gentle man with a wonderful smile and I know he is greatly missed by so many..
