In Memory

Bill Tucker

Comments taken from message from Carolyn Tucker Shelton, Bill's sister:

Bill Tucker, of Amarillo, had open heart surgery in September 2017. His lungs were in poor condition. He was scheduled to go to Lubbock for a surgery to repair his sternum where the wires had broken off after the heart surgery. On Monday, October 9,2017, he was at his daughter Star's house and passed away in his sleep. He was humble, kind, gentle, and very intelligent. He was generous and courageous. I have lost one of my very best friends. For as long as I can remember, Bill was a source of strength and inspiration for me in so many ways. But these things I never spoke of, just quietly held in my heart.

From Amarillo Globe-News:

Celebration of life services will be 4:00 pm Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Tasajillo Pavillion, Juniper Campground, Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Cox Funeral Home , Amarillo

Bill was one of the kindness, smartest and fun person in our class.  He was in band with me and all band members liked Bill and our 4 years in the Pampa High School band was one of the best memories I have of Pampa High School.  We all shared a special friendship.  God bless you Bill and your family. I know our Lord will be with your family in this time of great sorrow.  Blessings, Sandy Whelchel Brown

I am so sorry to read of Bill's passing. I remember him in band. He was such a nice (and kind) guy. He will certainly be missed by everyone who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Susan Quible Humphrey.

I too was sad to learn of Bill's passing.  He was one of the small group of 12 that spent graduation night at the Quible's and Palmer's houses.  He was quiet but funny as I remember.  I have photos of that night and he is laughing and having fun with the group.  Thank God he is now at peace.
