Everton A. Robinson

Lived in Lansing, Michigan for 3 1/2 years and obtained AS degree in Business; Obtained bachelor's degree in Accounting from California State Universite - L.A.; worked for KPMG CPA firm for 3 1/2 years and became a CPA; became Controller/VP of Finance in various banks; currently working as controller in a construction company, while developing a private franchising business on the side.

I was telling my wife about the time when Mr. Richards was sending kids home for wearing dashikis. Anybody remember that? I went down the main corridor of the school telling everybody to wear dashikis one day, and to pass the word along. The next day, a large number of students arrived at school in dashikis, and we were promptly thrown out of the classrooms.

Then we all went up to Mr. Richards office and asked to speak to him. He came out of his office and told us to go home and change. The students started yelling defiantly, NO!, NO!, NO!, NO! At that point I realized that I had created a monster that took on a life of its own beyond my control.

We later met with Mr. Richards in the library and aired our greviances with him, but at the end of the day, we still had to stop wearing dashikis to school.
