I graduated from University of Alabama in 1995 with a fashion retail degree. I interned with Parisian and was hired full-time in 1995. I married my high school sweetheart, Michael Hayes, in August 1995. After our honeymoon, we lived for a few months in Tuscaloosa while Mike finished up. We moved back to Birmingham in 1996, while I continued to work for Parisian. I became the buyer of ladies sleepwear for Parisian in 1997. In 1999, our first son, Joey, was born. I continued to buy for Parisian but moved to accessories. In 2000, I just couldn't drop Joey off at day care one more day, so I decided to "stay home". Within months, I was working at my church, Bluff Park Methodist, who desperately needed help in their MDO/preschool. Joey attended and I helped take care of 2 year-olds. I was hooked. I loved working with little ones and have continued working in this field since then. In 2002, our second son, Andy, was born. We moved to Houston, Texas for a year for Mike's job, but desperately missed Birmingham and our families. We moved back in 2004, and settled in Helena in 2005. Joey is currently a 6th grader at Helena Middle School, and Andy is a 2nd grader at Helena Elementary. I love my job as a 3-year old preschool teacher at Helena Methodist Church. I still contemplate returning to school to get my education degree and teach full-time, but worry about the current economy, so for now, I'm thankful for my job and I'm staying put. We will see what the future holds.
