Walter A. Hoopes, Jr. passed away on August 25, 2008, he is of Turnersville, formerly of Pennsauken. Age 44 years. Beloved husband of Denise M. (nee Weyand). Devoted father of Shawn and Erin. Loving son of Walter A. Sr. and Estelle (nee Simpson). Dear brother of Nancy Fink, Diane McLaughlin and Debbie Bosch. Son in law of Robert and Bernice Weyand, brother in law of Robert Weyand, Jr. and Renee Budniak. Also survived by 8 nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hoopes was employed as a Truck Driver at Majestic Oil in Cherry Hill for 20 years. He was a lifetime member of Delaware Gardens Fire Company in Pennsauken, where he served as a Deputy Chief. He also coached his children in many Township sports. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation and Funeral on Thursday from 9AM to 12 Noon at the FALCO/CARUSO & LEONARD PENNSAUKEN FUNERAL HOME, 6600 N. Browning Rd, where a Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Berlin. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations to The Hoopes Children Scholarship Fund, 5200 Rt. 42 Turnersville, NJ 08012.
I'm truly sorry to hear about Walt I know he will be missed by all. He was a good guy and the times I hung out with him and the guys at the fire house events where always a good time. God bless to the family for your loss.

I was saddened to learn that Walt left us so soon. I used to see him on an occasional Sunday morning at Verchio's Deli in Washington Township. My heart goes out to his wife, Denise and their two children. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Walt was a great soccer player. I remember the occaison when he scored using his height over mine to head the ball into the net. That was real fun. Any chance we could post the cause for our class?
