Thanks, Lyn! It looks like a lot of fun and I'm thinking about going! My cousin owns Jo-Jo's Pizza on 2nd and Old New Jersey in N. Wildwood and I'm always down the shore. Maybe I'll see you there. Missy

Hey everyone, I just came across a cool article regarding REUNION JITTERS! Anyone got them? Whether or not you feel anxious about attending, take a minute a read this. I think you'll feel a whole lot better! Missy

High School Reunion Jitters -
Anyone who has been to a class reunion knows there is a certain amount of anxiety associated with attending a reunion. As the reunion approaches your mind becomes flooded with thoughts. Will there be anyone there I know? What if my old boyfriend or girlfriend is there? What if nobody remembers me? What if I don't recognize classmates or remember their names? What if I run into someone I didn't get along with in school? I've put on weight. I've gone gray. I've lost my hair. I'm not that successful.

Relax! You are not alone in these thoughts. Everyone else is having the same exact thoughts and reunion jitters. Don't let these thoughts get in the way of attending your class reunion.

Bottomline is we have all changed. So what! Your not 17 anymore. The laws of gravity and time catch up with all of us eventually. Changes are an inevitable fact of life. Accept yourself for who you are. Be yourself. Celebrate life's changes. Relax and go and have a good time. Letting such negative thoughts impact your decision to attend may result in you missing out on a wonderful time.

Focus your thoughts instead on the positive aspects of attending. This is an opportunity to go out and have some fun once every 5 or 10 years, renew old friendships, catch up with each others lives, to celebrate your youth and feel young again (if only for a moment), to reminise about the good old days, to share time with old friends while we are still able to, to celebrate our changes. You will quickly find that people are not there to judge you but are there for the same reasons you are to have a great time and touch their past. It can be a wonderfully rejuvinating experience. When it is over we can take comfort in the fact that we have all changed, we've all gone down different paths in life but that we all still share a common bond and enjoy a good party.

Here's some tips to help you relax at your class reunion:
- Go with an attitude of having fun.
- Be yourself and be proud of who you are.
- Dress comfortably.
- Remember everyone will have changed. You're not alone.
- Hookup with a few close classmates beforehand and go to reunion together.
- It's perfectly ok to not remember somebody. Our memories all fade. That's why name tags were invented!

Hi Everyone,
Just an FYI. They are renaming the football field after
"Mr McAneney" on Saturday September 13, 2008 at the Pennsauken game at 11:00am against Eastern High School. Hope to see you there.

The following kind words regarding Gina Pendleton are reprinted from the front page of the Friday, October 31, 1980 edition of the Pennsauken High School student newspaper, the Penndian.

Special thanks are owed to Christopher Deighan for saving and scanning all of those Penndian issues so that we can share them again with everyone online.

I think Celeste had wisdom far beyond her years when she wrote this regarding Gina back in 1980.

Please take a moment when you can to post your thoughts or remembrances of the classmates in our online memorials.

Reflections
by Celeste Garcia

Many of us did not know Gina Pendleton personally; however, her tragic death touched not only her family but all of us. To many, Gina's passing may seem pointless, but it is difficult to believe that something of this magnitude can be meaningless.

Since it is possible that none of us may ever come to know or to understand the purpose of Gina's death, we must not allow the question why to dominate our thoughts.

Instead we - must realize the value of our lives and live our lives to the fullest. We must strive to derive all we can from each second and to see the positive in every element of our existence.

Perhaps the void that the loss of this Indian has created will draw the rest of us closer together. Most of all let us hope that this loss will cause all of us at P.H.S. to do as John H. Rhoades suggested when he said:
Do more than exist, live.
Do more than touch, feel.
Do more than look, observe.
Do more than read, absorb.
Do more than hear, listen.
Do more than listen, understand.

hey everyone from phs 1983
i just wanted to say hi to yall, some of yous probably dont remember me but u may remember my little brother: ron kennedy. well i am his sister karen.
i am so glad to read all your profiles and see that everybody is doing great. i received a message just this morning from Chris Jones Woods. she was so excited that she found me hahaha i never knew anyone was even looking for me, made me feel terrific inside. i sent little notes to a couple of yous just to sy hi and see how u were doing over the years. its kool if yall dont reply back. and to mr chris jensen i want to thank you for adding me to the class list i have been wanting to get back in touch with the handful of people who i knew from way back then, thank you. bcuz if u hadnt have added my name, chris jones wouldnt have been able to contact me. thank you. well to those who do remember me, i didnt graduate in 1983 or 84 or 85. i never did graduate from high school BUT I DID go on and better myself and my dreams that i had back then finally did come true for me. i got to see all the usa with the exceptions of hawaii, alaska all in 1 year. in 1987 i went to school to get certified and licensed to carry firearms and drive trucks. i did that for a long time, relocated to other states with my work and then graduated into tractor-trailers. some of u probaly knew my dad from east pennsauken, well he owned all his trcks and trailers so well i wanted to carry that on too.so now i used to drive coast-coast in all 48s and canada and really loved it. currently i broker my own loads and passing them to drivers in need of a fully loaded trailer. its fun and alot of work but i knew it was always in my blood.i have broadened my horizon the way i wanted, and not the way anyone else would have wanted me to do.i dont have any children but i love my dogs to death they are my babys.
i have met many people over the years who havent graduated from any school and they are barely making it so i just wanted to let you all know that i did make it all on my own with the help of my 3 favorite men in my life. my God, my daddy and my kelly bcuz without god and daddy guiding me i may not have made it either and kelly pushed me too the last 4 years. so if i can make it, anyone can. oh and daddy passed away in 1995, mom is still kicking it up with the best of them. well here is my yahoo email address if you would like to get in touch ok?
CAYENNE20022001@YAHOO.COM
good luck to all and God bless you and yours.
peace out.....

Update to the Carlos Ruiz e-mail.
We will also have a drawing for free Phillies tickets for a game in the 2009 series (after the Phils are World Champions)! I didn't have that information until after Chris sent out the e-mail (thanks again Chris). So, tomorrow October, 18th, Carlos Ruiz will be at Northeast Lincoln Mercury, 7001 Roosevelt Blvd, Phila, PA 19149 from 4pm - 6pm. He will be signing autographs and I will be taking pictures of him with every one of you that can make the trip. You will also have a chance to win Phillies tickets, and if you call two people to register at 83phs.com tonight, you will also have a chance to win free reunion tickets! Hope to see you all there! Oh yeah... I arranged free wings for tomorrow too! There may be a few more surprises, but nothing I can talk about yet.

Hey Everyone!
It's Tuesday night and I'm relaxing, watching a good SVU episode after a long day of teaching first grade at Roosevelt school in the beloved town that we all grew up in! It's hard to believe I've been doing that for the past 21 years. How can it be that we've been out of school for 25 years! It doesn't feel like it, seriously. I'm really looking forward to seeing you all again. I'm super excited to see my special friends from Arizona Kim and Keith Taylor who are flying in for the reunion. Can't wait to see you two! As for the rest of you I hope you recognize me without too much trouble. Looking forward to a fun relaxing night and reminiscing about our PHS years. See you all soon!

Hey everyone, just wanted to say I had a great time seeing all of you. Maybe I should not drink as much next time so I can remember more. I spent the whole next day on the couch, but it was all worth it. See you at the next one.

Hello everyone!!!

How wonderful it was to see you all at the Reunion and thank you again Chris Jensen for a terrific job at putting it together. Thanks for allowing me the fun of making the Awards announcements, as well...just like in HS.

For those that left early or "on time", many of us hung around next door til 3 a.m., which got me home at 4 a.m. Time flew by and you all looked wonderful..and I didn't even drink....no "beer goggles" necessary. :o)

I would love to see any pix from this Reunion, but I don't know where to find them on this site....does anyone know? Will they be publicly posted?

In the interim, I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and an amazing 2009!

Feel free to keep in touch...would love to continue catching up.....take care.

Sorry I missed everyone! Believe it or not I had the wrong date (the one on the first card). I would cruise the site every time Jense sent an update and ovelooked the date. Not much of a reunion when you are a day late! Was really looking forward to this one and seeing everyone - total bummer. Looking forward to seeing some pix. From what I hear it was a great success.

God willing we will all make it to the 30th.

All the best!

Frank
