Pete,Mimi, Gene Breen, and I were friends for years. We went on vacation together with our young families, and had a great time. In those days, Pete was one of the most articulate persons I had ever known.....and boy, did he have a dry sense of humor. We used to get together every time the Fields came to Pittsburgh. Pete was always funny, and entertaining. Sadly, both couples divorced in later years, and went their separate ways. I will always remember Pete for his intelligence, wit, and fun loving spirit!
Pete was my first date in 5th grade. His father picked me up and drove us to the movies. My grandmother, who was living with us at the time, thought it was a scandal for me to go out on a date at that age. Pete was a gentleman, a gentle man, and a gem.
