Dennis was a delight to everyone who knew him and his wonderful, quirky sense of humor. I'll never forget working with him on the Observer, he was a master cartoonist and when he and Bill Schaefer got together, no one could avoid smiling and laughing at their zany comments. I doubt Dennis knew how profoundly his passing would effect so many people. Dennis - where ever you are - you are missed and will be with us in our hearts on this 40th Reunion!
I agree with everything Sue said. Dennis was a great friend. We had reconnected around the time we were both turning 50. He still had the wicked sense of humor and a gentle and generous nature. We walked around a civil war battlefield in Virgina together, swapping life stories. I carry his memory with me always.
I dated Dennis briefly, but even back then I could recognize how special he was. I don't think I will ever forget him. I wish I knew what contributed to his passing, but I hope I see him again someday. Loved his sense of humor too and his amazing talent in his cartoons. I am so glad to see others are remembering him fondly.
