Our dear sister, Sherry Lynn Backus, age 46, passed away September 12, 2004, in Orem, Utah of complications from surgery. She was born June 19, 1958, in Provo, Utah to Edward Franklin and LaNiel Taylor Backus.

She was a faithful member of the LDS Church, a gifted pianist and seamstress, a loyal and devoted sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor. She enjoyed handwork and collecting Peanuts memorabilia. Her talents were used to beautify temples, movie sets, and countless homes.

Sherry is survived by her siblings, Anita (Rick) Landon, Edward 'Ted' (Ellen) Backus, Penney (Paul) Gauchay, Amy (Neal) McKinlay, Stacy (James) Martineau, Brent (Ragen) Backus. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 17, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in the Edgemont 21st Ward Chapel, 2900 North 650 East in Provo. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem, and also Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the ward chapel. Interment will be in the Eastlawn Memorial Hills Cemetery.
