I left Park in Nov.1963 when my father accepted a new job in St. Louis,Mo. I graduated from Webster Groves High School in Webster Groves, MO. It was a difficult move to say the least as I had many good friends at Park. Doris Feldman came to visit me that Christmas which greatly helped the transition. I went on to Ball State University and got a BS degree in Nursing. Went to work at St. Louis Children's Hospital in Infectious Diseases and ER for 3 years. Wanted more excitement and joined American Airlines as a flight attendant--I expected to stay just 3 years but retired after 34 years being based in Chicago, San Diego , and Los Angeles. I ended my career with great international routes--favorites being Stockholm and Munich. I always kept up my nursing part time, working at different hospitals in San Diego, 10 years at SD Hospice and now private duty 1-2 days a week. I went to India in in 1977 with the University of Humanistic Studies to explore Eastern spiritual practices and with the Association for Research and Enlightenment in 1986 with other doctors and nurses to study alternative ways of healing.
I re-connected with Lurene McDonough at a party in Chicago in 1970 and encouraged her to come with American Airlines --she did and we have traveled to Ireland, the Greek Isles, and Mexico. She and I will be attending the reunion together.
I married Sy Migdal in 1988 (at age 41), an English Literature Professor/School Administrator. We have continued to travel to many countries--our favorites:all of Central America,Chile, and Thailand. We also like to spend part of each year in San Miguel de Allende,Mexico. I have a great stepson Kesten and daughter in law Dana plus grandchildren Nico and Anton who live in Berkeley and we get up there frequently.
We are always thankful for good health and hope to give back something in the retirement years - adult literacy ,health education or whatever comes our way. Please call or e mail if you come for a vacation and we will give some hints for your stay.
