Barry Lindeman

Barry passed away at his home in Red Bluff on Jan 19,2020. From what I understand Barry passed away due to complications from diabetes.

i have just returned from asia and running from the virus, and now i read the very sad news about barry. i ran track and played football with barry. he was our fastest runner at rb high and could turn on a time. he definitely had talent that was never discovered-he was very good but really never tried. ask doug about his speed talents. we once had the fasted  440 yard relay team for track at rb high. it was mike dagan, me, andy thorne and barry. we were the fastest team ever-but our ace was always barry. i took barry to his first rock concert in winterland (SF)-we watched the doobie brothers. we were up all night. as a quiet guy, it was new adventure for him.  he laughed all night with me. we were also at sacred heart elementary school- i can't remember if the the nuns liked him or not:)!  i have known barry for a long time but unfortunately have not seen him for a long time. it is very sad to lose another friend.

Frank and I are so sorry to hear about the loss of Barry.  Frank remembers Barry as a very nice and humble guy who was “one heck of an athlete”.  He was a great sprinter on the track team as well as a great running back on the football team.

Frank remembers when Barry skillfully intercepted a pass and ran it back for a touchdown.  The next day when he complemented him he modestly said “oh thanks”.

I too remember Barry’s kind, friendly smile and we both are sorry we lost touch after high school.

Barry and I go back to grade school at Sacred Heart.  He was one of the shy quiet guys that everyone liked.  My brother Dale remembers Barry as one of the fastest runners in track in HS.  He will always be remembered with fondness for his listening to others and his sweet nature.  RIP Barry.

Just read about Berry. I too remember him from Sacred Heart School and remember him as being shy. I am sad to hear this news. We were in a small class but did not run in the same circles as is the norm for boys & girls in grade school. Gary made a comment that he couldn't remember if the nuns liked him. I wouldn't worry about that as I don't think you can go by their opinions. I remember them as cruel. I remember the boys being hit on the head with books by the teachers. Not very constructive I'd say. Anyway, I remember him as a good kid and shy.

My condolences to his family.

We used to run a timed 50 yard dash, not the 40 yard standard of today. Barry was running the 50 in 5.8 seconds. Low 6's were fast!
