Pat Spanfelner (Harless)

So glad you Sacramento gals are staying in touch!  Love it!  Had a meeting today to start the planning for the cruise.  Terry Woods is calling the travel agent tomorrow and we will post soon the details.  Make sure your passports are current or if you don't have a passport be sure you start that process. More info to follow on the cruise real soon. Also just paid for this web site for another 10 years.  So the ads that you have seen on here should be gone now and we can continue to communicate on this site and future reunions will be posted on here.  If there are some classmates whom you have contact with but they haven't signed on to the web page yet, please encourage them to do so.  Also if you haven't let us know you are interested in the cruise you can put that on othe 60 year birthday cruise tab.  More fun times ahead! Woot!

Hi Folks,  People are asking me who is signed up for the cruise and who is planning on coming.  So far all I know is we are signed up and I know Terry Burgess Woods is signed up.  Not sure about Susan Fuller Wilson yet.  If you are signed up and planning on going please let me know so I can figure out the bus situation from here to LA and back  and if you are interested in Mt Lassen taking us down there. Looking forward to hearing from you either way.  Thanks

I've been on this Cruise and it is always fun to be onboard a Princess Ship.  I wish I could sign up with you all but my wife works in the education field and I am busy Officiating High School Sports these days.

For those who do go be sure and rent a Golf Cart's as a Group on Catalina Island and race each other along their marked route.  I had 16 members from my family and we had a blast with them.  Four of the cousins' were rather heavy folks and their cart kept backfiring and blowing smoke on the uphill climbs.

Take lots of $1.00 bills into Ensenada because the poor children will be begging you to buy Chicklets chewing gum.  If you have heart like me you'll want to give as many as you can a little hope.  Always negotiate your purchases.  They usually have signs posted with pricing on the outside of their shops. When Cruise ships arrive they flip them over and their prices magically double.  Most of them love to negotiate and make a sale.

Have lots of FUN and Happy Cruising!

Don't get too fat eating all that great food,  Kevin

The cruise was a lot of fun.

I do like the idea of a potluck get together for an event.  Picnic or bonfire, something that maybe closer to Red Bluff.

It was a great time but I am with Sally; it would be nice to have little gatherings here and there to stay in touch and to be able to see people who could not cruise, whatever the reason. Time is going by too fast; I would like to stay in touch with my classmates.

yes!  Potluck picnic day will be April 30th at our ranch. This is all weather permitting of course. I have one pop up shade unit and if others have them please bring them.

Date: April 30th

Time: 12:00 noon

Place: Harless ranch Lowrey Road past Colyer Springs Road. Sign or balloons will be at gate. More info on directions later.

What to bring: lawn chairs, your own drinks, food to share( chips don't count) BBQ's available to BBQ whatever meat you want to bring. Burgers, hot dogs etc. fishing poles if you want to drop a line, shade units if you have them. Stuff for s'mores if you want to make them.

Come enjoy the day and visit, visit, visit! Drink, enjoy!

Cows still on the ranch at this point so keep the gate closed behind you when you come in. Drop me a message on here if you plan to attend and if it rains we will have to cancel.

See you at the ranch!

Pat Spanfelner (Harless)

We are planning a potluck picnic day for anyone who would enjoy getting together to visit and enjoy the day.  This will be held at our ranch west of Red Bluff. From  Main St. turn on to Luther, to Paskenta Rd. Turn left on Paskenta, turn right on Live Oak, turn left on Red Bank, stay left onto Lowrey, once you go through cattle guard keep going on Lowrey, don't take Colyer Springs which is the gravel road that goes straight veer left staying on Lowrey Rd. There will be a sign on your right saying picnic. Open the gate and close  it behind you so cattle don't get out. This is 20 miles from main st. Luther intersection.

What to bring:   Lawn chairs, food to share, (chips is not food), whatever you want to drink, fishing pole if you want to drop a line in the pond, pop up shade unit if you have one. This is just a time to get together and gab and have fun.

THIS EVENT IS SUBJECT TO WEATHER PERMITTING. NOT HAPPENING IF RAINING!

I am planning to attend.  Just wondering if I come in via Corning Rd/ Paskenta and onto Lowry from south end about how many miles to your ranch Pat?

04/05/16 09:34 PM #79

Pat Spanfelner (Harless)

That way is a lot farther Barbara. I have only taken that drive once and it was a long haul. A lot of gravel too. I would not recommend it.  Well, I just googled it.  It is about a push .  38 miles through RB.  32 miles through Paskenta but gravel road. If you go that way I would do it on your way to our ranch and not later after dark. Your call. Put in  13636 Lowrey Rd. And google map it. There is no address in the gate but that is the general area. Glad you are planning on coming.

Jerry Bloxham done ... or best I could. The site and FB do not share the same formats and editing, so the web site is in text only and the messages can't be linked to update with additional comments from this point on, without manually doing it. sorry ... less someone can do better!

Hello pat-I am currently in china and teaching at the university. I was so proud to see the link on keith-his face is still the same.! Then I thought maybe I should inform you that I just recently was honored in washington dc as usda scientist of the year for the usa. My  research on using plant and microbes to clean contaminated environments caught their attention. I am enclosing a photo of the award. It would be great if keith could also see this-we are the two professors in the classJ! hope you are surviving with the bad weather in California (what I read on internet). All the best-gary

I'm very sorry to hear that Brian. I didn't have your dad as a teacher but remember when he and Mr. Hughes would open up that big door and teach both classes together.  My condolences to you family.

Ok friends, I have to clear the air.  I was listed as class valedictorian in the class trivia quiz that was passed out at the reunion dinner this past weekend.  This, of course, is not true (I think I had a 3.7 or 3.8, obviously not good enough).  That honor belongs to Sue Cole and Jaci Franseth, both very smart and lovely people I knew in high school and beyond.  I think the confusion came about because I was listed under valediction in our graduation program.  This only meant that I played/sang a song I wrote for graduation (I may have been coerced, I don't remember).  Anyway, many thanks to Pat, Pam and everyone else on the reunion committee for  putting this together.  It was a great and fun weekend.  It was nice seeing everyone and well worth the trip. This was my first reunion.  I will hopefully see you all in another fifty years.  Warmly, Mike.

Hopefully we see you in 5 years. And yes...sorry about the confusion. None of us knew the difference. Sorry to Sue and Jaci.
