From Judy Horner Hornai, remembering Gayle:

Gayle excelled at teaching higher math at Detroit Country Day, Marshall Jr. High, and also at Thurston.  She made the classes fun; often you could walk by her room and hear the class singing 'A Hunting We Will Go (to trap a zoid), while teaching them about trapezoids!  Her classes were never dull!  She had an amazing zest for life, and continued to keep in touch with so many of her friends from Thurston, and from W.M.U. in Kalamazoo as well.

Everything in Gayle's outlook on life, as well as her personality, was positive.  She was happiest when with her friends, and her laugh and humor was always contagious!  Her door was always open to family and friends, near and far.

Gayle arranged a get-together for some of the 'Golden Girls' from Thurston, in 2007.  She held it in her home, and the special day is a wonderful memory to all who attended.

She and Wayne were especially proud of their son, Tim.  His job took him to California, where he met and married Stacy, a physician specializing in emergency-trauma pediatrics.  Excited with the birth of their first grandson, they traveled to San Diego to meet little Brayden.  Their home became decorated with his photos.  There is now a little brother, Colton, whom Gayle would have been so proud of.

Gayle would have been thrilled to see everyone at this 50th reunion!  We know she'll be there with us in spirit.  She is dearly missed.
