Thomas was a kind person to everyone and will be missed. I looked him up and this was some of what I found. It is very sad that his life was taken from him.
Woodridge police said a Riverside man was struck and killed as he jogged on fog-shrouded Illinois 53 before dawn Friday.
The accident occurred just north of 83rd Street as Thomas Wiet, 28, was running north in the southbound lanes, said Linda Siembak, spokeswoman for Woodridge police. Police already were on the way to the area when Wiet was struck. Several motorists had complained that Wiet was creating a hazard by running on the road in the dense fog.
