I moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho in 1979. I married a wheat farmer and raised six children. I am currently a secretary in an elementary school and vice chairman of the county fair board. I went to work when my youngest was in Jr. High and I love my job. I have 8 grandchildren with number 9 on the way. My life has been wonderful! I was able to be a stay at home mom. I raised a garden, canned, was a 4-h leader and just enjoyed my family. We enjoy camping fishing and just being outdoors. I can watch deer, moose, coyotes and other wildlife right from my kitchen window. I live in one of the most beautiful places in the United States. I get back to Roanoke about once a year to visit my sister Lorie (who married our classmate Tony Turman) and a couple of friends. I am just a very happy, satisfied woman with a great life.
I was not very involved in much at high school. I tended to party too much and hang out more with people from work instead of school. I wish I had made lasting friendships with classmates. I honestly don't have a lot of high school memories because I seemed to spend as little time as possible there. I am having a wonderful time seeing where everyone ended up and what they are doing now. I would be curious to know how people remember me. As that quiet girl in the corner or the girl that ran with the wrong crowd. I was definitely both at some point in high school. The more I read the profiles the more memories I find that I actually do have. My memories are mostly of Jr. High before I became a crazy party girl who thought it was lame to do "high school" stuff. I remember great slumber parties at Linda Clague's. Debbie Haynes, Christine Vontsolos, Betsy Hunter we always had such silly fun. Oh for those days again. I became good friends with Debbie when I moved in down the road from her. I keep watching for her to show up on here. Does anyone know what happened to her? I wish I could have made it to the reunion. I think that even though I didn't make friendships in high school we could be friends as adults. The timing was bad for me with work and my daughter's wedding. Maybe next time.
