I only today read about Dicks passing.  In High School we were very good friends.  I'm sorry that after HS we didn't keep in touch.  I travelled really a lot for about 12 years before settleing in Fortuna, California.  I've lived here since 1981 and only made it back to one Robbinsdale Reunion, and that was the 20th...quite a few years back.  Please accept my condolences and know that I held Dick in high reguards.  He was a good friend!

Sincerely, Tom

I think that Dick and I were in one class together back in Jr high.  Years after high School we were involved in the same organization and would attend some meetings together and exchange greetings.  Another 20 years pass and a crew was redoing the street in front of my house.  Dick came driving up in his road grader.  After a short chat about mutual friends, he was about to retire and I was retired, we hit it off.  We'd meet for coffee, he started to get his golf game back , he fit in well with our group.  Dick was strong in his opinions, but sensible and kind.  We knew that cancer ran in his family and that he maintained healthy eating and lifestyle habits.  We were still surprised when he was hospitalized, in visiting he seemed fine. Later Lynn called me to say he had passed away.  At his funeral Dick had picked "All in the Game by Tommy Edwards" (tear jerker) and his brother-in-law Glen Melling (64) gave a wonderful eulogy about what great man that Dick was.  I think of him often and wish we were still golfing and having coffee.
