I considered Darrell a best friend in jr. and sr. high school.  Darrell brought happiness to whatever the activity.  He was a friend to everyone.  Outside of school we enjoyed sports together.  I couldn't compete with him in basketball, but I could in tennis and ping-pong.  Living in Tennessee, we lost touch with each other but reconnected in the last three years.  I appreciated being able to attend his funeral last month.
