A quote that best describes my past 30 years would be from Elenor Roosevelt " A woman is like a teabag; you never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water."
I received a BS degree in Psychology and BA in Social Work from King's College in PA in '84. Came back to rochester and worked as a CPS caseworker at Monroe County DSS for 7 looooong years. Married Joe in 1991. Moved to Binghamton for three years then to the village of Dryden in 1995.
For almost 10 year swas a stay at home mother while my husband worked at the Vet School at Cornell as the Director of Admissions. In 2007 I went back to work at Franziska Racker Centers as a service coordinator when my husband Joe became disabled and could no longer work.
This is where it gets interesting. Things were not going well with my new jopb because my computer skills were ancient. Who knew social workers needed to use computers? Anyway... in Nov of 2007 I was diagnosed with stage one Breast Cancer and about to lose my job. By God's grace my boss took pity on me and didn't fire me which allowed me to keep my health insurance and therefor keep living. I worked full time thru surgery, chemo and radiation and at the same time LEARNED HOW TO USE A COMPUTER! Until my md tells me differently I am Cancer free. Iknow God has a plan and a purpose for me and I hope I'm not disappointing Him.
My kids are great- healthy and relatively happy. Ilove being a mom, even to teenagers. Having my children has been the best thing of my life!
Today is today and I'm trying to live my life that way.
