Matthew Fox

I'm a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy. I'm a Cardiovascular Technician Instructor; have also managed the Emergency Department at MCB Camp Pendleton, Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Naval Hospital Oakland, and managed the Maternal Infant Unit at Balboa, San Diego.

The Navy has afforded vast opportunities in the medical field. In between those assignments I spent 4 years serving as a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman with the Marines, and Beach Party Team Corpsman with ComFibGroup 3 out of Coronado (SEAL Teams, SWIC, Beach Master Unit One). I've been around this world 7 times and have two trips to the sand box in Iraq and one into Afghanistan.

I've enjoyed the Navy and every aspect of my career; experiencing many cultures and helping so many around the globe. I reflect on that 2 year blur in Rogers, and realize I didn't connect with you all as much as I would have liked to. On the other hand, some of you helped me through very trying times whether you realized it or not.

I also DJ outside the Navy...just over 600 Weddings in the past 12 years. It's fun, and the money is good. Let me know how the Mobile DJ market is in your area....we're still deciding where we'll move in Texas once I retire.

My greatest success in life is being truly blessed with a wonderful wife and family. Ellen...I don't have enough characters left to go on about her qualities; very fortunate I am. Ryane (daughter is 9) and Roman (son is 2) are the left half of my soul. I am retiring in just a few years, and we'll be moving back to Texas. I've spent the last 18 years up and down the coast of California. I love it here, however...I'm a Texan at heart.

Until then, if you plan on taking a trip out to San Diego, give me a call. I'll take you surfing, snowboarding (just north about an hour), show you our best beaches, or chill out for a day here at our home in Pacific Beach and watch the fireworks from SeaWorld pop above our backyard. I'm into gourmet cooking, so you won't be dissappointed!

Neil and Sara, thanks for putting this page together. Very cool guys! I'm looking forward to connecting with you all. I hope that our reunion is at a time when I'm not forward deployed to the Middle East. God Bless and all the best to you and yours!

Somewhat of a blur...many wonderful moments, and just as many trying times losing my father (Grandpa) just before transferring to Rogers. The drumline...joking with Willie (Will... sorry bro, I know we're in our 30's now), Denise's cute little smile (boy has she changed)! The drumline and looking forward to those moments kept my head in the game. Other than that, I worked outside of going to school to help support my family.
