School Story:
High school was great fun and filled with memories. I am grateful for all the friends I had and the people who weren't really freinds but let me hang around them anyways :) In my earlier years, I tried out for track because it sounded fun and because someone told me I should run really fast with my huge legs...well I made the team- but I didn't run that fast..but I don't think I was last, so that was a relief. However, I learned to be amazed at some of my fellow team members..wow, they can really run! They ran so fast that thier feet were ahead of thier bodies. I also treid out for basketball, because the coach said I shoot baskets well. I made the team. However, I didn't know anything about basketball, lost my uniform, couldn't wear my glasses on the court and lost my schedule. Thus, I only made it to the frist few games, was on bench most of the time, when I did get in everyone was so fuzzy I didn't know who to pass it to, the colors were so similair too! Yikes! And then the time I got a good ball, I turned around and "travelled". Then promptly went back to warming the bench. Doing what I did best, cheering on my team! The next few years I turned to theatre instead, working on stage crew and developing a love for the theatre and all the studetns working cast and crew. In my senior year I was the Stage Manager, which was a great experience. I also was on the Speech team, which helped me not be so shy when it came to public speaking (this really helped out in College). I never won any awards at the speech tournaments, but the coaches and my team mates nominated me for the "Sparks" award- it was a specail award just for me, because I'm so special! This was my favorite award from High School...although I don't know what happend to the actualy award, in my memory it is in a place of honor. Thank You everyone, I felt appreciated. I also remember having some of my stories/poems in one of the school's publications. It's nice to go back through these things and read what I wrote 15 years ago...especially when I can barely remember what I was doing 15 days ago. I LOVED the school pizza, lunch was my favorite class during Freshman year, I ate with all my newly found friends...and although some of us drifted apart through the next 3 years...I've never checked anyone off my "friends" list. I like people and enjoyed having been able to be around everyone. High school was great fun for me, of course it could have been better...I COULD have gotten better grades, made more friends, dress better, laughed louder, joined more activities, went to more parties, learned how to dance...BUT as they say "could have, should have.." Life is full of "If's" and "but's"- however, I was happy with the person I was during High School. I hope that I was as good a person as I thought I was and that I was as good a friend as people needed me to be. God Bless ya'all. Just a heads up..
