I had the opportunity to meet (on 2 occasions) a very special artist!
1983—Surrounded Islands near Miami
I helped to spread the pink fabric around one of the islands, and then I interviewed Christo—one to one! He signed my newspaper article.
December 2018—35 years later
The Perez Museum in Miami had an exhibition to remember and celebrate Christo’s Surrounded Islands art project. We enjoyed remembering how we went out on a boat and spread bright pink fabric around the islands. We both looked at the photograph and remembered the experience. I purposefully put on a pink sweater for this special occasion!
I create many of my own videos—especially at museums in New York City.
I link these videos to my classes for my students at PBSC to watch.
