For me, Mike was one of the original "Outlaws" I've met in my life. I shared a few classes with him and I know he didn't always agree with everything the teachers were trying to preach to us as gospel. This of course led to some confrontation with authority. Mike was one of those who early on thought "Outside the box". He had the most dry sense of humor and at times had me laughing to the point of tears.
I'm not sure of Mike's life or the details of his passing. I hope he is in that better place of peace and joy. I'll remember him as a friend and thank him for the memories.
As Coach Al Fracassa once said, "Jim was the greatest athlete I ever coached". He truly was an amazing talent. An All American in football, track and basketball. That put a lot of pressure on Jim to keep up in the classroom as well as with sports. He brought a lot of positive attention to our school and handled it all with grace, humility and poise. Jim had a great sense of humor and a huge bright smile, he was fun to be around.
He was successful in his professional football career as well as in business. Thankfully he was blessed with a wonderful wife and family. Unfortunately he was taken from us too soon. I'm glad to have known Jim and I want to thank him for being a part of my life and for gracing the halls of our school for which he did so much.
