Charlie Maus

I have been living in Northern Kentucky since 2003 and enjoy being a father to my two sons. I occasionally make it back to RC to visit family. I often reflect back to my days as a RC Mighty Laker and cherish the experience that we shared and the "lessons" that we learned from Coach Finley and the rest of the staff that helped prepared us for life. I honestly do not know if I could have been the person I am today without being a part of this organization.

There are many memories from my years : Coach Finley's tobacco juice freckles that you would get after making a bonehead mistake; Coach Taylor's glasses and his treatment for a cut on the arm; Coach Morrison's jokes and his "fro"; the practice field where ethics were instilled the moment you walked on its hard clay surface; the football camps at Jabez-the heat of summer and the "Pukes" of Hazard; the behind the scenes efforts of the best managers in the state; the consorted support of the Boosters and the community; the butterflies that started on Thursday after walk throughs; the mental prep during quiet time before the Game; the motivational speachs; the Finley game face; the huddle on Friday Night; the solace of a road trip win; how RC football history would have changed had the referee raised his arms on that cold wet night on the east goal line against Corbin; the unfair home advantage at Boyle County; the rivalries with BC and Somerset; the dominance over Wayne and Casey; The "Family".....
