Joe Flanagan

After graduation I worked around Russell County doing various jobs such as deputy sheriff, vol. FF, was the first person i believe that Randy Hart ever hired when he started his battery business. I sang in 2 gospel groups in the 70's and early 80's. Attended 1 yr. of college at EKU. Married Jeanne Ragle, divorced after 6 years, married Evelana Johnson till current.
Became an EMT for Russell County EMS, later moved to the Atlanta area in 1984 and became a paramedic. I worked down there for 25 years, and had an opportunity to apply for the directors job back here at home, and got it. So I'm back! and very glad to be home!

One of the oddest things is Jeff Wilson works here at the EMS, and as most that knew me knows that we were very good friends in HS. We have great memories of high school basketball together.
I only played 1 or 2 years of football, I remember getting my knee hurt by Wes Bottom and I think Jesse Mccoy hitting me at the same time from different angles, on crutches for 2 weeks! I don't remember myself being a very good football player, but I am glad I was there for the beginning of what I am told is a pretty good program.
