I graduated from Saginaw Valley State in 1969 with a BA in history with English and secondary ed minors and also married Kathy Dietlein that spring. (Yup, Tom Dietlein's sister. small world, huh?) Taught Junior High for one year and after a millage defeat took a "temporary" job at GM in Bay City that lasted 33 yrs. Started out hourly, retired as an engineer with stints in supervision and plant security. Along the way I picked up my elementary teaching certificate at SVSU and a Master's in Personnel Mgt.from Central Michigan.
Kathy and I have four sons and four grandsons. Sean, who lives near Port Huron and Dan, in Boston are both in sales. Russ and Kyle are both in the military, Russ with the 101st Airborne, just returned from Afghanistan (Thank you, Dear Lord!) and Kyle with the 988th MP Company in Iraq. Our grandsons are Ethan & Aiden (Sean's) and Ian & Nathaniel (Kyle's) and range in age from 2 to 8.
I've been active in my congregation, Zion Lutheran in Beaver Township, serving in a number of offices and as a Stephen Ministry Leader.
Since my retirement in 2004, I've been doing a lot of fishing, hunting and traveling, including annual RV trips to Texas in the winter and a trip to Italy this past September. |

Can't print my favorites, but one that comes to mind is the "deodorant fight" with Gary Campbell just before Prof. Frederichs' history class. I remember "Fritz" was just a bit upset. |
