Kathleen Brug Glende

Have taught kindergarten (half-day) at St. Paul's in Columbus, OH and served half time as church and school secretary for the last 20 years (beginning in 1996). This is my last year in the classroom but I hope to continue with the secretarial work for church and school.We came to Ohio in 1979. From 1980 until 1996 I served a part-time position as church and school secretary. I was a regular sub in school when they needed me.

I will be retiring from classroom teaching June 30, 2016. As mentioned previously, I plan to continue as church and school secretary. Much more is involved in the position than when I first started. I have certainly learned a lot about technology over the years but I am still not very accomplished. I keep learning the new things that I need for the job:)

Phil serves as church organist and choir director. Even though I am not a great musician, I became interested in our church bell choir over 20 years ago when it was organized. For many years I was "a ringer." Somewhere along the line and after perhaps three directors there was no one available to direct so I said I would try to keep things going and I am still at it. We have three octaves of bells and a very dedicated choir of ringers who find this to be a special way that they can serve and praise the Lord with music. We have fun and they are so appreciative of the opportunity to be in the bell choir.

I have many, many fond memories of my MLS years and probably could come up with some stories but what I really want to share is a thank you to all of my classmates for the friendships that have lasted a lifetime! Even though I haven't seen some of you since graduation and others so very rarely, I still feel the strong bond of Christian friendship that we have. The class website is a blessing. I wish you all the Lord's richest blessings in the coming years! I hope we can keep in touch!

I am so sorry that we can not attend the reunion. I had been looking forward to it for a long time now. I have been able to connect with a good number of you on facebook and enjoy that. Our school kindergarten and 8th grade graduation is also on May 27th. I hope you all have a wonderful time and I look forward to reading about everyone in the commemorative booklet. We will have to keep in touch through our class website. God's blessings to all of you!

I wanted to be a teacher. I cannot remember ever wanting to be anything else. I think that desire started in 1st and 2nd grade. When I left MLS I attended MLTC and WLC when it was a two-year college and from there went to DMLC for my last two years of college. My first teaching assignment was in Fairfax, MN.
