Tina Jorgenson (Armitage) Berger

MARCH 16, 1952 – DECEMBER 29, 2012

Tina Jorgenson (Armitage) Berger, age 60, died Saturday December 29th in the loving company of her family after a tough battle with brain cancer. She was born in Salt Lake City Utah on March 16, 1952, the daughter of Verla and Norma Jorgenson but was raised by Verla and “Hubcap Tony” Suite. She graduated from Olympus High School in 1970. Tina was married to Jim Armitage from 1974-1993. She later married Raye Berger. Raye precedes Tina in death. Tina claimed many states as home, including Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, and Utah and spent a number of years traveling the U.S. as a truck driver with Raye. Tina held a number of jobs most of which were working with people. She was a wonderful woman who charmed people with her optimistic and sociable personality. Tina made lasting impressions on everyone she met, even in her final days. She would make jokes and light of the situation even in her toughest moments. In her sarcastic voice she liked to say, “I’ll be here!” She loved animals, yoga, aerobics and dance classes with her daughter. She enjoyed family trips to Deer Creek, camping, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and riding motorcycles. Tina is survived by her Papa Tony (“Ettie” Outsen) Suite; siblings Karen (David) Ettin, Kent Jorgenson, and Lana (Edward Olson) Lattrell; her children Jared Armitage and Jenny (Steve) Astling. A memorial service will be held Sunday January 6th from 1-3pm at Majestic Meadows Club House, 4580 S. 1055 W. Taylorsville Ut. In lieu of flowers Tina requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
