Jay Carol was a live-wire and a fun loving jokester, always eager for another adventure. Jay's life ended tragically just before the end of our sophomore year in a jeep accident in front of the old Holladay Elementary School on 2300 East in Holladay, Utah. He and Chris Cole had just left the old Artic Circle drive-in next to the Burton lumber yard that sat next to the school and were headed up 2300 East in Chris's convertible old jeep and Jay's jacket began to fly out of the back seat and out of the side of the jeep. He reached out to grab it and Chris hung onto him to keep him from falling out. Unfortunately, not enough attention was being paid to the road and Jay was swung into and hit several items on the side of the road killing him.

He is buried in the Holladay Cemetary in Holladay, Utah.
