LuJean Jorgensen Edwards 1951 - 2008 "Listen to your heart"

 

LuJean Edwards passed peacefully from this world on the morning of December 20, 2008 just eight days before her birthday. Born in Salt Lake City on a cold winter night December 28, to warm the hearts of her parents Doris (Laursen) Jorgensen and Max Leo Pierce. LuJean was married to Edward Paul Midgley in March of 1971, which resulted in four children, her purpose for living. They later divorced and LuJean married her husband, Bryan Edwards on August 12, 1993. LuJean graduated from Olympus High School where she was a cheerleader, Vice President of her dance club, choir member and cast member in countless school plays and musicals. She was passionate about caring for others and had a gift to rejuvenate anyone who came in contact with her. LuJean graduated from Brigham Young University in Nursing and had a successful career in Labor and Delivery. In addition she had her own practice to heal through body work and other techniques, many she learned from the Mayan culture and people in Belize. Friends describe her as fun, creative, caring, and a bit mischievous! She will be remembered for her love of mother earth, her healing hands and unparalleled selfless nature. She is survived by her husband Bryan Edwards, daughters Mindy (Midgley) Swensen (Dave), Shelly Dawn Midgley, and Ivy Edwards, sons Timothy Scott Midgley and Christopher Midgley (Bertha), her loving parents Doris and James E. Jorgensen, sister Jeanette Young, brother Kenneth Jorgensen and four grandchildren who were the light of her life: Hailey, Riley, Savannah, and Gabriel. Preceded in death by father Max Leo Pierce, grandson Issac Edward Pierce, grandparents William and Lulu Laursen and George and Ida Pierce. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2008, at Park Pointe Ward, 8539 South 2200 West, West Jordan. A viewing will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan. Interment to follow at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.

I saw LuJean a year or two before she died. She was the same as in HS....genuine and uncomplicated.

LuJean was a great friend in High School.  It was great to reunite with her 25 years ago when she was my nurse following the delivery of my sixth baby.  She helped me so much during some pretty scary days not knowing if my baby was going to live or not.  I agree that she was a great, kind and loving friend.
