Judith Wiley Obituary

Judith (Judy) Ellen Marks Wiley 1952 ~ 2003  Our beautiful, beloved Judy passed away December 7, 2003 in Tonasket, WA, succumbing after a twenty year battle to the steadily advancing debilitations of multiple sclerosis (MS). Like her Biblical namesake, Judith, Judy was a warrior to the end; never giving up and making the best of every situation, a true Woman of Valor. Her husband Percy steadfastly remained at her side, fighting alongside her and extending her life by his constant care. Wherever Judy went, her friendly outgoing spirit attracted friends - her "pals". Born May 2, 1952 in Denver Colorado to John David and Jeanie Wilson Marks, Judy lived also in New Orleans, Dallas and Salt Lake City, graduating from Olympus HS in 1970. Earning a degree in Psychology at the U. Utah in 1973, Judy pursued a career in retailing with, May Company, Fredrick & Nelson, and the US Navy. She resided in Boston, MA, Van Nuys, CA and Portland, OR where she married Percy D. Wiley Feb. 2, 1980. They later relocated to Seattle, then Tonasket, WA. She relished travels to Europe, China, and the Caribbean. After employment in retail became an undue burden, Judy remained occupied by serving as a volunteer counselor for the Seattle MS Society, and earning a Masters Degree in Counseling at the U. Seattle. Survived by husband Percy D. Wiley, Tonasket, WA; parents, John David and Jeanie Marks, Salt Lake City; siblings Jennifer Beach, Minneapolis; John David Marks, Jr., (Pamela Brady), Salt Lake City; Jocelyn Jean Gehrke (Michael), Washington, DC; nieces/nephews, Denise, David, Robert Marks, Louis and Lita Beach. A memorial service was held at Temple De Hirsch Sinai, Seattle. Family suggests contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, or a charity of your choice.
