She is the daughter of C. Edsel and Zetta Critchfield Tholen. This earth was blessed with ehr presence on January 26, 1952. She passed away January 18, 1992 from complications of diabetes.Valerie was a sweet and tender and cared so much about others. One of her greatest joys was cooking and she often entertained her many friends and family with her culinary art and humorous personality. Her latest achievement was the lovely wedding cake she baked and decorated for her brother in December.

She graduated from Olympus High School in 1970. Attended Dixie College and the University of Utah. Married Leland (Tad) Swaner November 13, 1975; later divorced. She is a member of the LDS Church.

She is survived by her son, Leland S. Swaner III (T.J.); her parents; her sister, Allyson Clark; brother-in-law, Scott; and her brothers, Dwight C. and Joy; Sterling C. and Jennifer; Preston C. and Calee; and Anthony C. and Rebecca. Her dear brother, Edsel C. (Teddy) preceded her in death in 1989. She adored her nieces and nephews and loved her many relatives.
