Brent Ellis Obituary

On June 7, 2013, Brent Taylor Ellis, our loving son, brother, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly at his home.

Brent was born December 12, 1951 in Salt Lake City, the son of LaVe Taylor and William Bryner Ellis. He grew up in Holladay, Utah and graduated from Olympus High School, served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War, stationed at Ford Ord and Camp Williams. Attended the University of Utah, graduated from Brigham Young University in Business Management. Brent worked at State Brass Foundry and also for Dan Jones and Associates for the past 25 years, forming lifetime friendships. Throughout his life, he served others and made many friends. He loved the mountains, skiing, motorcycles, rock climbing and sailing. Loved being with family, loved his nieces and nephews and his dogs.

Devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed being actively involved, and served in many leadership positions, currently serving as stake financial clerk.

Survived by parents; brothers and sisters: Lynn (Marilyn) Ellis, John (Linda) Ellis, MaryAnn (Kevin) Brown, Stephen (Kris) Ellis, Peggy (Dave) Galloway, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by grandparents: William John and Dora Bryner Ellis, Phillip T. and Lola North Taylor.

Funeral services for Brent will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior, at the Holladay Stake Center, 4568 So. Holladay Blvd. A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 So. Highland Drive. Interment at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 So. Salt Lake City, Utah.
