John Raymond Pasola

I attended college at New Mexico Military Institute and St. Mary's University. I married Shawn Ann Lane(1964-2009) on June 22, 1985. My beautiful wife passed away last year. I have two awesome kids, Sara and Tyler.

I began a carreer in San Antonio as an IBEW electrician in August 1985.

Work got slow and I passed a test to be an Air Traffic Controller in 1990 and began my current career for the Federal Aviation Administration in March 1991. I worked in Houma ATCT in Houma, LA; Beaumont ATCT, TX; Houston Hobby ATCT, TX, Boeing Field ATCT and SEATAC ATCT both in Seattle, WA and currently at Houston Bush ATCT in Houston, TX. I have been a supervisor for 16 years.

I have picked up running the last 4 years which is therapeutic both physically and mentally. I've participated in numerous events including 11 marathons(26.2 miles) and 4 half marathons(13.1) in the past 8 years. I ran the Boston Marathon in April 2007 and 2011. I qualified to run the Boston Marathon 4 times. I also completed 6 Tough Mudder (3 in one month) events the past 2 years. A 10-12 mile run through mud, ice water and electricity. I started cycling in 2009 and participated in the Seattle To Portland 3 times. The ride is 204 miles finishing between 13 and 15 hours. I also completed the 2011 Seattle to Vancouver, a 200 mile ride in 14 hours. I also am climbing Mount Rainier this summer for the 3rd time.

I've been attending the Woodlands United Methodist Church for the past 3 years.

Besides church, running and cycling, I spending time with my family, working out and snowboarding.
