Since I am coming to the reunion, I felt it necessary to get this all out. For those of who thought I was an asshole during high school, you are probably correct. It was not until I went through a lot of changes and pain to myself and others that I realized that I was depressed and had been so. But, I am much better now after therapy and drugs.
I have been married for 37 years to Marcia, whom I met at San Diego State. We were married young, but didn't know any better. I dragged Marcia to San Francisco for law school in 1974 where she taught in Oakland to support me and came back to San Diego in 1979. We have one son, Seth, who is really a great son (for which Marcia and I only take 50% credit), who lives in Hermosa Beach, is 30 years old and has been supporting himself for years in shoe sales for high end companies for the western US.
In 2004, having no one at home and living in a big tract home in Carlsbad/Encinitas, Marcia decided it was time to downsize and we moved to a wonderful neighborhood in San Diego, where we were able to get a canyon hugging house.
Marcia, my wife, has now been retired from teaching English and ESL for 2 years and is loving it.
I am an attorney, representing injured workers in workers compensation and still enjoying the work and helping people. I had been doing personal injury work for years then opened my own office in 1982, but hated it and was ready to give up law all together, but after a major melt down following the 25th and hurting people I was close to and getting treatment, I made the switch and things have been pretty damn good since then. I started teaching at that time at the University of Phoenix and tried for Jeopardy (passed all the tests, but never called) and just changed my life.
So, in any event, I am coming back and hope to see all of you and hope that those of you I offended (which was always unintentional) will forgive me and get to see those of you whom I didn't.
